As an art director you have the responsibility for setting the tone of the whole project, which considering how much RPG fans love their art, was quite a scary prospect. Choosing a style for anything is not easy. There are so many different ways you can go. A lot of art being produced nowadays is purely digital, although there are some who still exclusively use traditional media to create great images. Some artist and illustrators like to mix it up! I belong to the last group. I have always been drawn to drawing, pun intended. I love the character and feeling a drawing can give you, lots of shapes and dynamics through gesture. Combine all that with the very fine layering and colouring possible with applications like Adobe Photoshop and you have lots and lots of possibilities to work with. I think the results speak for themselves and I am very pleased with how things are shaping. Am I satisfied? Absolutely not, but then that is a good thing, right?
