Hello Internet and RPG fans,
I am Peter Davey, the lead artist, fantasy art creator and visual tickler here at Nonagon Three. I am usually to found with various implements either in my hands or mouth and muttering a lot. I always loved art and especially drawing right from the word go. Art was easily my best subject and my favourite in school. I have a lot to thank the Head Master in Primary School and my art teachers in Secondary School for. They gave a lot of important encouragement and no small amount of ‘artistic freedom’. For that I am very grateful. It seems no real surprise looking back that I went on to study art.
Fantasy art and drawing was one of my very first art loves. I can still remember being inspired by the orcs drawn by Paul Bonner in the 80s for Games Workshop. In art school though, they were frowned upon and I was forced to put down some areas of my passion for a while. Don’t misunderstand me, they never truly disappeared but had to remain well hidden whilst I was making ‘Art’. Occasionally I would smuggle an orc, goblin, dwarf or elf into a sketchbook, even though I knew the frown it would draw from tutors, I couldn’t resist. Now, well now, within reason and time constraints, I draw what I like. Then something like UGM comes along and you are suddenly in the position of being ‘that’ artist you wanted to be when you thought about your future at the age of 11 years old.
This project has been a long time coming. I have been working very hard, on occasion through holiday trips, to make sure the artwork great. A visual treat for you fantasy art fans (a little goblin just whispered to me, that that makes you guys FAFs, someone is going back to the mines!). There has been so much creativity zipping around it has been unreal sometimes, which has been really useful as there has been a mountain of work to do. UGM is getting so close to launching you can almost taste it and I cannot wait to hear what people think about the artwork for the app. I hope some of you will take the time to tell me what you think. Well I have to get back to the drawing board, literally.
I will keep you updated on the new work I will be producing here.
